OMV CEO says to discuss price of 25% in Gazprom’s project

ST.PETERSBURG, Oct 4 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom and Austria’s OMV have not yet agreed on the price of a 24.98% stake in Gazprom’s project to develop two Achimov blocks of the Urengoiskoye deposit, OMV CEO Rainer Seele told reporters on Thursday.

“The price is yet to be agreed upon,” Seele said.

Gazprom said late on Wednesday that it had signed a basic agreement to sell the stake in the project. The final agreement is to be signed in 2019 and the deposits will be developed until 2069.

OMV and Gazprom signed a binding asset swap agreement in December 2016. Under the deal, OMV will receive a 24.98% stake in a project to develop two fields of the Achimov deposits of the Urengoiskoye field. In exchange, Gazprom will receive a 38.5% stake in Norway’s OMV Norge AS.
